Informal Supports

Our vision at Heart in Hands is to provide a community for our families. Parenting is hard, parenting a child with varing abilities brings another layer of hard. Studies show that parents feel the most support from other parents that can relate to their experiences. These informal supports are still in developing stages and will continue to evolve but will consist of support groups, parents night out, trainings, etc.

Services

Inclusive child care

Heart in Hands offers a sensory friendly child care environment for children of all abilities. Children will have access to theraputic tools like weighted blankets, swings and mini trampoolines. The will also be supported by staff trained to meet every child's needs.

Family Social Play Group

This group is the best of both worlds. Children get the opportunity to play and interact with other children while their parents engage in adult conversation with other parents. At this time this is a very casual environment with child directed play and sensory friendly activities.

Therapies

This is not a service available yet at Heart in Hands but will be added in the future. The long term goal is that families will have access to occupational, speech, ABA, and behavior therapies. As well as Child Parents Psychotherapy (CPP). Therapies could be offered in the classroom or clinic based as well as home based therapies. We recognize that every child and their family is different and intend on providing options of services to help make our families successful.

Community Garden

Summer 2019 brought us our first garden. The kids helped us plant some great vegetables and we are enjoying picking them. We can't wait for our pumpkins. We are planing for next year already and hope for this to be a community garden.

Family Events
We have planned many amazing events for our families these have included cookie decorating, Easter Egg Hunt and Pancake Feed and fall carnival. Our families enjoy these events and so do we!
